I usually don't put much stock in fate and meant-to-bes. When *Rebelflowers and I stumbled across this graffiti while exploring the last location of the day, though, it gave me chills.

It was one of those rare, marvelous moments when you know you're exactly where you're supposed to be, exactly when you're supposed to be there, and I was fortunate enough to have someone with me who captured it on film.

It's been almost four and a half months since the first time I saw this shot, and my heart still cracks every time I look at it.

i understand what you mean. the photo is touching but the story behind it intensifies this a thousandfold.

This is both wonderful and devastating. The raw emotion really comes through... the way you've wholly compacted yourself into the lacuna between the viewer and the desert speaks volumes that the gap alone could never convey.
